Where it began.....

This was one of my very first swarms I collected on my own. The Bath road Bees .. My First Bee Swarm Rescue: A Journey from Fear to Success

When I collected my first swarm of honeybees, I must admit—I was terrified. Standing beneath a buzzing cluster of bees clinging to a fragile branch, I knew they were vulnerable. Left exposed, they risked being weathered by the elements or labeled as pests by others. But I also understood the critical role these tiny creatures play in our ecosystem, and I had the courage to step up and give them a second chance.

Armed with a small nuc box, I carefully scooped the swarm into safety. The experience was nervewracking but deeply rewarding. Once secured, I gently transported them in my car to my allotment, where they quickly adapted to their new home. Over time, the swarm flourished, building a thriving, healthy colony that has since become an integral part of the local ecosystem.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to Jack, who alerted me to the swarm's location and made this rescue possible. This experience marked the beginning of my journey into beekeeping—a passion that not only connects me to nature but also underscores the importance of protecting our pollinators.

Stay tuned for more stories about how these tiny heroes are transforming lives and landscapes in our community. Remember: every bee saved makes a difference! Tags: #Beekeeping #BeeRescue #Pollinators #Sustainability #PleaseTheBees #Ecology
